Sumario:In this paper, we present the results of techno-morphological analysis carried on lithic artifacts from the site 2 of Amalia archaeological locality (LAA). This site is nestled on a small hill located in a transitional environment between two geological provinces: the Tandilia range and the Pampas plains. Our main goal is interpreting and discussing the archaeological context of the oldest human occupation dated to the Pleistocene-Holocene transition. The place was used as an ephemeral camp and presents evidences of many archaeological artifacts produced on different rock types transported from different regions of the Tandilia hills, as well as other rocks from sources located at 500 km from the site. In regard to the geoarchaeological context, the analyses show a change in the sedimentation, which is related to the fluctuations of the climatic conditions and indicate wetter cycles in the beginning of the Holocene.
