Academic medicine searched to discredit folk medicine so it could monopolize the field. One of the causes of the failure of the academic medicine is the cultural component, we refer to the religious aspects used by the folk healers during their healing practice. In this paper we analyze how important was the religion in some cases of folk medicine through judicial records in Buenos Aires province during sixty years.
