Sumario: | In 1958 in a mink farm located in the Province of Buenos Aires an infection due to a beta hemolytic streptococcus determined the death of 3 out of a total of 450 minks. The microorganism was clasified as Streptococcus zooepidemicus. Pathological changes were of the general congestive type reaction of the reticulo endothelial system with serohemorragic exudates and hemoglobin alterations. Absence of symptoms in the acute cases prevented treatment; cronie cases recuperated after treatment. Diagnostic was only possible through bacteriological studies as the pathological picture was insuficiente to establish it. Higienie measures plus both antibiotica and autovaccination proved succesful. |
